Research background
IGF-1 DES, more fully DES(1-3)IGF-1, is a naturally occurring truncated variant of IGF-1 missing the first three N-terminal amino acids. That small truncation substantially reduces its affinity for IGF-binding proteins while retaining receptor binding, which is why it appears in the literature as a comparator against full-length IGF-1 — the pairing isolates the contribution of binding-protein interaction. Research examines receptor signalling and localised activity in cell models. Evidence is preclinical. Research Use Only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Supplied as a lyophilised powder for laboratory research use only. Any context described above refers to published preclinical or in-vitro research — not to human or veterinary use.
