Research background
IGF1-LR3 is a modified form of Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 carrying two changes: an arginine substitution at position 3 and a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension. Together these markedly reduce binding to IGF-binding proteins. That reduced binding-protein affinity is the reason for the modification — it leaves more of the peptide unbound in models, extending its effective activity. Research examines cellular growth, proliferation and differentiation signalling in culture. Evidence is preclinical and heavily cell-model dependent. Research Use Only.
