Research background
LL-37 is the only cathelicidin-derived antimicrobial peptide found in humans, a 37-amino-acid sequence beginning with two leucine residues — the origin of its name. It is produced by neutrophils and epithelial cells as part of innate immunity. Research examines LL-37 in two overlapping areas: direct antimicrobial activity against bacteria and biofilms, and its signalling role in innate-immune modulation and wound models. Notably, the literature reports both pro- and anti-inflammatory behaviour depending on concentration and context, so results are strongly model-dependent. Research Use Only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Supplied as a lyophilised powder for laboratory research use only. Any context described above refers to published preclinical or in-vitro research — not to human or veterinary use.
