Research background
MOTS-c is unusual in origin: it is encoded not in nuclear DNA but within the mitochondrial genome, in the 12S rRNA region. It belongs to a small class of mitochondrial-derived peptides identified relatively recently. Research examines MOTS-c in cellular metabolic regulation, including work on AMPK signalling and on metabolic responses in muscle and adipose tissue models. As a comparatively recent discovery its literature is smaller than that of long-established peptides, and findings are preclinical. Research Use Only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Supplied as a lyophilised powder for laboratory research use only. Any context described above refers to published preclinical or in-vitro research — not to human or veterinary use.
