Research background

Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide: the immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin extended with a three-amino-acid stabilising sequence that substantially lengthens its half-life relative to tuftsin alone. Research examines Selank in neuro-modulation contexts, including work on GABAergic signalling and on BDNF expression in animal models. As with several peptides in this class, much of the published literature originates from Russian research institutions, and independent replication outside that body of work is limited.
