Research background
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist: a modified analogue of the naturally occurring incretin hormone GLP-1, altered to resist DPP-4 degradation and to bind albumin, which greatly extends its half-life relative to native GLP-1. In research it functions largely as a well-characterised reference compound against which newer metabolic candidates are compared. Semaglutide is the subject of extensive pharmaceutical development and approved clinical products; that body of work belongs to its developers and describes those products — not material supplied for laboratory research. Research Use Only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Supplied as a lyophilised powder for laboratory research use only. Any context described above refers to published preclinical or in-vitro research — not to human or veterinary use.
