Research background
Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide first isolated from intestinal tissue, though it is now known to be distributed widely through the nervous and immune systems. It belongs to the secretin/glucagon peptide superfamily. Research examines VIP through its receptors, VPAC1 and VPAC2, in immune-modulation, neuro-signalling and circadian contexts. It is notably short-lived in solution, which is a recurring practical consideration in study design. Evidence is preclinical. Research Use Only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Supplied as a lyophilised powder for laboratory research use only. Any context described above refers to published preclinical or in-vitro research — not to human or veterinary use.
